Rabbi Roni Handler – Director of Congregational Learning

Rabbi Roni HandlerRabbi Handler is a native Philadelphian, well-routed in Conservative Judaism, having grown up in a conservative synagogue and working with many conservative congregations in our area. She graduated from the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in 2011. She is also a graduate of George Washington University, where she earned a B.A. in International Affairs with a concentration in Middle Eastern studies, which included a study-abroad period at Ben Gurion University, and she earned her M.A. in Jewish Communal Service from Brandeis University in 2005.

In addition to recently serving as our sabbatical Rabbi, where she conducted services with Hazzan, taught at our Shabbaton, and planned and led our Purim Megillah reading, Rabbi Handler serves as the part-time, sole clergy and religious school director for Temple Micah in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, as well as the director of community learning and editor of Ritualwell and as interim director of admissions and recruitment at the RRC. Rabbi Handler has served as the High Holiday Rabbi at Temple Shir Hadash in Westford, Massachusetts, and was the Sabbatical Rabbi for Congregation Or Hadash where she led services and taught various adult education and religious school classes. She has extensive experience teaching religious school, as a family educator and curriculum writer, and working with youth and college students. Rabbi Handler has been the recipient of numerous awards including the Morton Schein Education Fellow, awarded for commitment to Jewish Education.
