About BTBJ
President's Message
On behalf of our entire congregation and staff, welcome to BethTikvah B’nai
Jeshurun (BTBJ)! We look forward to meeting you personally and welcoming
you to our community for Shabbat services, minyan or special events so we
can get to know each other better.
At BTBJ, we are committed to a contemporary approach to Conservative Judaism. Our services are egalitarian and we welcome everyone’s participation -- women are called to the Torah and children often join us in song and prayer. Rabbi Saul Grife and our cantor, Hazzan Arlyne Unger, lead inviting Shabbat and Holiday services creating a warm, community-based experience. They are accessible both within and outside the sanctuary, and engage the congregation with music, humor and spiritually uplifting prayer.
There are many ways for you to be involved at BTBJ and actively contribute to the larger Jewish community. We offer thought-provoking educational programs and dynamic social activities for all ages. Congregants join in social action projects and participate in our active Sisterhood and Men’s Club organizations. Discussion groups, mitzvah projects, holiday celebrations, sports activities and social gatherings draw us all together as one “synagogue family.”
Our Preschool, Camp and Religious School provide a rich learning environment and quality Jewish education spanning the toddler years through high school. In addition, our youth groups, Halutzim, Kadima and USY, engage our children through service-oriented projects and social programs. We will join you in the celebration of your simchas and provide supportive minyanim in times of sorrow.
Small but dynamic, BTBJ is more than just a congregation; it is an extended Jewish family for all of its members. We have been a vital center of Jewish life in our community for more than 50 years and we look forward to getting to know you and sharing our bright future with all our members and guests!
B’shalom!
