Mussar Class

7:00 PM - 8:30 PMJEWISH SPIRITUALITY FOR THE MODERN WORLD
Join the growing number of Jews who are finding mussar meaningful as a practical discipline to uncovering individual holiness. Literally defined as correction, instruction or ethics, “mussar means working on yourself—but not for the sake of yourself,” says Alan Morinis, the 67-year-old dean and founder of The Mussar Institute, which advances the study and practice of mussar throughout the world. In this popular 13 week course, members meet together as a Va’ad (group) and with a chavruta (learning partner) as we learn how to make more and better informed choices on how to interact with others and our world. The course is suitable for all levels of participants. Please consider committing to all 13 weeks of this course.
Mussar class continues into the second year, and second semester of study on Monday nights, via Zoom at 7:00 pm. If you have had previous classes in Mussar, and are interested in joining, please contact Rabbi Roni at rhandler@btbj.org or Sarah Ghosh at sarah@ghosh.us . The thirteen week class began in the summer, and continues into the fall: 10/19, 10/26, 11/2, 11/9, & 11/16, 11/23, & 11/30
