8:30 PM - 9:00 PMBedikat Hametz - The Search for the Hametz
Tuesday, April 7, 2020 - 8:30pm
Every year on the night preceding Pesach Jews the world over do the mitzvah of Bedikat Hametz, searching for the last vestiges of hametz (leaven) to rid themselves of the prohibited food on Pesach. The search is traditionally done with a feather, a spoon and a candle. The process of removing hametz from our homes and our lives entails 3 steps. I will demonstrate and do all this on Zoom starting at 8:30pm. If you don't have a feather, candle and spoon, anything to gather the last bread crumbs to ready it for disposal the next morning will be great. After doing this together which should take up to ½ hour, I will lead a participatory session on Pesach and new Seder ideas for this unique year when many of us will gather around "virtual Seder tables".
Everyone is welcome!
