Our Menorah Wall Sconce
Our Menorah Wall Sconces

Renowned artist David Klass envisioned and crafted two signature menorot that came to grace the sides of our Aron Kodesh, the holy Ark at BTBJ. These works were designed as a variation of his celebrated Shin design menorah, inspired by the Hebrew letter shin. In Jewish tradition, shin represents the acronym “Shomer Delatot Yisrael”—Guardian of the Doors of the Community of Israel.
Fashioned from brass beaten and melted over copper, the menorot combined durability with artistry. Their flowing, curvaceous forms suggested poetry in motion, transforming an ancient symbol into a striking expression of modern spirituality. Each menorah bridged past and present, connecting us to the enduring heritage of Israel while highlighting the spiritual depth of the Hebrew language.
These menorot are more than decorative additions. They serve as guardians of our sanctuary and sources of inspiration for all who gather here. Their presence enriches our bima and sanctuary, strengthening the atmosphere of reverence, creativity, and continuity at BTBJ.
