This course will give teens (8th-12th) a foundational education to become a Teacher’s Assistant (Madrich/a). Students will cultivate leadership skills and build experience by engaging with case studies while also relating their knowledge learned in this course to their experiences in the classroom.

*This course is required for all teens who would like to be a madrich/a in the Religious School. Upon completion of the first year, madrichim receive an hourly wage for their work. (Teens may also continue to participate in TAP as an alternative to taking this course. They will be paid after they complete TAP. TAP is focused on inclusion and accommodating different learning needs in the classroom whereas this course will be more general. TAP is best for madrichim who already have experience in the classroom.)

By registering for this course your teen commits to attend all/ as many as possible classes as possible.

BTBJ has my permission to obtain emergency medical treatment for my child when no parent/ guardian or provided emergency contact can be reached or if a delay in reaching my child would be dangerous for them.

Recording events, celebrations, class progress and individual students on file is an important part of school life. We ask that you give your permission for your child(ren), you and/or your family to be included in our BTBJ photo collection, website newsletter, Facebook page, and school publications. We also recognize that parents may take pictures or videos of school events, the use of which is beyond our control (such as parents personally posting photos or videos on the web). We ask that all families be sensitive to the desire of other parents and take down or blur out a child, if asking to do so. BTBJ may publish photographs/ images and/or quotations of my child, and members of my family.
